UW-Madison Dorm Carpet Recycling Diverts Nearly 20K lbs!

This May, Sergenian’s Floor Coverings teamed up with UW Housing, WE Conserve and Reynolds Urethane Recycling to divert nearly 20,000 lbs of used dorm carpeting from landfills. Collection sites were spread out throughout campus, and all dorm rugs, carpet padding, and urethane futon mattresses that were headed for the dumpster were instead collected and reclaimed. A big thank you to James Harrod at UW Madison Physical Plant and Paul Reynolds of Reynolds Urethane Recycling for helping facilitate this very successful effort. We look forward to keeping even more out of the landfills next year!
